Oh man, Brett you little tease. What a mess on our hands now huh? Should he stay retired or should the Packers let him back in the door if that's what Brett wants?

The radio show last Wednesday when this story broke it was hillarious...all anyone wanted to talk about. Ironically, I was there running the show with Jon on vacation.

I say ironically because on the show, I was going over the top with excitement about Brett coming out of retirement to play for the Packers again.

If you don't know, I must be honest and up front about my stance on Rodgers, and you know this if you are a regular listener at all. From the start I haven't been in his camp...don't see it happening there. I'm not sure why, but I just get 'feelings' about this stuff. (OH, BEFORE you poo-poo me on that, I'm the same guy who publically predicted a big win over Seattle and a three-point loss to the Giants in the playoffs last season.)

Now, as much as I would actually like to see Brett come back for one more year....

As much as I am not thrilled at all about Rodgers taking the snaps...

As much as I was 'dissing' him on the show in fun that day...

Deep down inside I feel for Aaron Rodgers in this deal because I guess I can relate to his position.

He works hard quietly in the background behind the established star of the team for years. He plays the dutiful backup and keeps his mouth shut over the years, just getting the job done when called upon.

He displays patience even as he watches the great one age and slip over time.

He believes it's his time as that process continues.

He waits.

He finally gets his chance when Brett retires. He practices being the one taking the snaps...the one the team now looks to for leadership now that the old school leader has moved on to another chapter in his life....only to suddenly have the old guy decide he wants to come back and take away the job you want but never had? Yikes. That has to be tough.

So in that sense, as I relate to A-Rod, I'd have to say that in a fair world, Brett needs to stop playing these rumor games, which he could do in an instant by just coming out and flat-out saying it, NOT just texting someone "It's all rumor." SURE it's all rumor, that YOU Brett have failed to deflate. We KNOW it's rumor, why don't you deny it?
